Sara Barros Leitão | Actress

Sara Barros Leitão was born in Porto in 1990 and graduated in Acting for the Academia Contemporânea do Espectáculo.

She works regularly on Television, and her work on the mini series “Mulheres de Abril” earned her in 2014 the nomination for Best Supporting Actress on Áquila and Fantastic Televisão awards.

In cinema the highlights are the feature films “Aristides Sousa Mendes – O Cônsul de Bordéus” and “Pecado Fatal”, in which she was nominated in 2014 for Best Cinema Actress Award at CinEuphoria Awards and, in 2015, for Best Supporting Actress at the Sophia Awards and Golden Globes. However, it was in Brazil that she won the Best Actress Award at the Independent Film Festival in São Paulo, Brazil. She has also participated in dozens of short films in the lastest years.

She is a frequent voice in advertising radio announcements and cartoon dubbing.

The theater occupies most of her time and imaginary. In the past few years, she has gone through companies and structures such as Teatro do Bolhão, Teatro Meridional, Teatro do Vestido, Teatro Nacional São João, Teatro Experimental do Porto, etc. At this moment, she unfolds herself between her work as an actress, the artistic direction of Carruagem, the company of which she is a co-founder, and a degree in Classical Studies at Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa.
