Virgínia Barbosa | Director
Virgínia Barbosa was born at Ilha da Madeira, Portugal. At 17, she moved to Lisbon to study Engineering, but the passion for cinema was always present.
Self taught, she is continuously learning through books, the films she watches and the films she makes.
Her first short film – uramaki – was directed in 2016 for the 48 Hour Film Project – Lisboa. Since then, she has joined Tripé working in different fields such as directing, production, image assistant and so on.
Her most recent short films were selected for several film festivals like Filmapalooza Orlando 2019, Madeira Fantastic Film Fest, Córtex Film Festival or Shorts@Fringe Azores 2019.
