Luke Morgan

Filmmaker

Luke Morgan is an Irish writer and director, and one half of "Morgan Brothers", an award-winning filmmaking duo from Galway. His short film "The Boat" (2023) won the "Gran Prix Irish Short Award" at Cork International Film Festival and "Best Irish Short" at Foyle Film Festival in 2023, both Academy-Award-Qualifying distinctions.

He was nominated for the Discovery Award at the Dublin International Film Festival in 2020, and was awarded the 2015 Screenplay Pitching Award at the Galway Film Fleadh.

Morgan Brothers' Irish-language feature film, "Froggie" (2024) premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh, won "Best Film" at the Worcester Film Festival and had its US premiere at the prestigious Santa Barbara International Film Festival in 2025. He is also an award-winning published poet.

Bruno Carnide

Filmmaker

Bruno Carnide, nominated twice for the Sophia Awards of the Portuguese Film Academy, is an independent portuguese director and founding director of Leiria Film Fest – International Short Film Festival, since 2013.

He has directed fiction, animation and documentary short films, which won dozens awards and have been exhibited in hundreds film festivals around the world, including qualifying festivals for the Oscars and European Film Awards such as ZINEBI (Spain), InterFilm Berlin (Germany), Huesca (Spain), Izmir (Turkey), CineLebu (Chile), Drama (Greece), Tirana (Albania) or St. Louis (U.S.A.).

With a Specialist Title in Film Production, Bruno Carnide is a professor in the field of Cinema at Polytechnic University of Leiria (Portugal).

He was curator at Museum of the Moving Image (Portugal), between 2022 and 2024, and is frequently a member of the jury at International Film Festivals. As a freelancer, Bruno Carnide has directed hundreds of corporate and commercial videos for companies such as Google, Volkswagen, Ford, MTV, Nickelodeon, Portuguese Television or Schweppes.

His filmography includes the short films "Memories of an Empty House" (2023), "Fled. Lay. Fell." (2017), both shot on 8mm film, and the animated short film "The Flight of the Manta Rays" (2021).

João Ricardo Oliveira

Programmer

Co-director and programmer of Kinooceany – Portuguese Cinema Week in Poland. Independent programmer with collaborations at Nowe Horyzonty IFF, Timeless IFF, and Literacki Sopot. Translator, freelance journalist, and film critic for the Polish collective Pełna Sala.

Ariana Santos

Filmmaker / Art Director

She began her career in theatre, where she developed her work as an actress. Ten years ago, she transitioned to cinema, joining the collective Tripé, where she works as an art director and filmmaker. She has been collaborating with Planos since its first edition.

Paulo Peralta

Film Critic

Member of the Portuguese Film Academy since 2011, and also a member of the Online Film Critics Society in the United States since 2012, being the first Portuguese online critic to join this organization. He has served as a jury member at Shortcutz Viseu, Leiria Film Fest, and the Caminhos do Cinema Português Festival.

Margarida Mateus

Programmer

Margarida Mateus is a member of the Coimbra Film Studies Center and the Tomar Film Club. She has served as jury delegate and programmer for the Official Section of the Caminhos do Cinema Português Festival. She was also vice-president of the Portuguese Federation of Film Clubs and a member of the FICC Jury at the FIKE Festival. She is currently part of the board of the Tomar Film Club and has been a member of the Planos jury panel since 2016.

Pedro Caldeira

Filmmaker / Programmer

Pedro Caldeira is a young director and editor whose work has been gaining more and more visibility. Many of his films were selected for numerous festivals, not only on national grounds such as MOTELx, Ymotion, or the Leiria Film Fest, but also internationally as the London International Film Festival, Napoli Film Festival or the Filmapalooza Atlanta, Paris, Orlando, and Seattle, where he obtained an honorable mention for best editing among more than 100 international short films.

With his collective Tripé, founded in partnership with Paulo Graça in 2014, he has explored film production, web series, video clips, video art, promotional spots, and event coverage. This collective has already won several awards in competitions such as the 48 Hour Film Project in Castelo Branco and Lisbon, and at the Silêncio, 3in1, and Leiria Film Fest festivals.
